What to Expect
Join us for our annual Family Weekend, open to all active member households! We’ll be camping in Ohiopyle State Park, where we’ve reserved two group campsites (40-person capacity each), making this a great opportunity to paddle, relax, and spend time with fellow members and their families.
We’ll take care of dinner on Saturday evening, along with a light breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. The focus of the weekend is fun, flexibility, and making the most of the river conditions.
Paddling Plans (Tentative):
We’re planning to run sections of the Youghiogheny River (“Yough”), including the Upper, Lower, and Middle. All river plans are dependent on water levels and overall interest—if conditions change (e.g., heavy rain), we may pivot to alternative options.
Upper Yough (limited first-timer spots available) + Lower Yough (if enough interest).

Help Make the River Accessible
For families bringing non-paddlers or those new to whitewater, we’re working to coordinate raft support on the Lower Yough for Saturday. We’re looking for volunteers to help make this possible—whether that’s lending rafts for the weekend, guiding rafts, or supporting boaters to help get first-timers down the river.
Raft space will be dependent on how many volunteers and boats we’re able to line up, so if you’re interested in participating in a raft, please indicate that when completing the registration form.
If you have any questions, can help with a raft, or are willing to guide, please email Erik at erikordos@gmail.com.
